Bocce Ball

I had never heard of this amazing grass sport until a couple weeks ago. But since throwing my first Bocce ball, I can say I'm addicted.

There are two teams with two players each. Each player has two balls. There is a white ball called the nut which each team takes turns to throw as close or as far as they wish.

The object of the game is to toss the ball as close to the white nut as possible. Each team alternates who throws the ball. Once the first player has tossed the ball, a player from the other team has to tossed the ball closer to the nut than the first player. Who's ever ball is FARTHER from the nut, that team continues to throw until one of their ball's are closer. Once and if they get a ball closer the other team then throws and this continues until all the balls are tossed.

Points are scored by first taking the ball that's closest to the nut and then adding all the balls who's team the closest ball belongs that are closer than the closest opposing team's ball.

The first team to get to 10 points wins!

Today our friend's Duke and Lizzi came over for dinner (Thai curry) and then off we went to the nearby park to play.

We battled back and forth but Duke and Lizzi won the first round.

The second round we settled the score and won.

I highly suggest you play at least once in your life time.
